blizz Mobile Authenticator Available In Europe! (Source)

We’re happy to announce that the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator (http://eu.battle.net/bma/), an extension of the same concept behind our Blizzard Authenticator, is now available in Europe.

An authenticator generates a one-time password, which you use in addition to an account ID and password to log in to World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Entertainment services. The Battle.net Mobile Authenticator performs this function for the recently launched Battle.net accounts — only instead of a physical token, the application exists on your mobile phone for easy access.

The Battle.net Mobile Authenticator is now available as a free download for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch from the Apple App Store:

Versions for other mobile phones are also in the works for the future. Please visit the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator FAQ for more information, or head to the setup page (http://eu.battle.net/bma/) to get started after you’ve downloaded the application.

Blizzard have been pulling more iPhone apps from AppStore. Lately, 2 other apps (Warcraft Chest & WOW Realm Status) have been also removed. So is this the signal of Blizzard’s upcoming iPhone app? Reported by Double Bubble.

We’ve seen the iPhone authenticator and it seems that Blizzard is planning more for the iPhone & World of Warcraft.  Also there are gossip around about a WOW client on iPhone. (based on Vollee?)

It seems now Blizzard drops legal notices to iPhone based WOW utilities authors and requests them to stop distribution. The thing is, Blizzard only prevents distrubition of competitor or similar products that can directly effect the sales. So what we think is Blizzard is planning an application for iPhone, either a basic game client or an armory alternative.

Let’s wait and see it.
